ABOUT JBC DANCE
JBC Dance is a dance school specialising in Ballroom, Latin, & New Vogue styles of dance. We also cover some Classical Sequence and Rock 'n' Roll styles of dance.
Janita is the youngest professional teacher in Christchurch to be qualified in all 3 Dancesport styles - Ballroom, Latin & New Vogue.
We teach in a fun, relaxed environment so that you can learn at your own pace in a way that suits you.
As a teacher, there is no greater reward than seeing our students' faces light up when they achieve and enjoy what they have been learning.
We have classes for both children and adults, so no matter your age or ability we can cater for your needs. If there is enough demand we are always open to setting up new classes, so get a group together and contact us today!

Whether you just want to dance around the room with style and ease, or you want the challenge of medal exams or dancesport we can help you, all the while ensuring you have fun and enjoy yourself.
We hold social dances regularly during the year so that you can put your new skills learnt to good use and have fun at the same time. We also hold Amateur medal examination sessions during the year. Amateur medal examinations are a good way for you to receive feedback about your dancing. There are ten levels of medals in three styles to work for! We have had excellent results, with our medals students receiving highly commended and honours passes from out of town highly qualified examiners.

2025 CLASS START DATES
All classes start the week beginning 20th January 2025:
Wednesday 22nd January 2025 - 7.00pm at St Marks Church Hall, 150 Withells Road, Avonhead.
Thursday 23rd January 2025 - Adult's Intermediate Class, 7:30pm, Social time, 8:30pm at Prebbleton School Hall, Prebbleton.
Sunday 26th January 2025 - Medal Technique Class 4.00pm at Prebbleton School Hall, Prebbleton.
Private Lessons start back from Wednesday 22nd January 2025. Please contact us if you wish to book a private lesson.
BEGINNERS CLASS
Registrations are now open for our Beginners Class which starts 6:30pm on the 27th February at Prebbleton School Hall. There is a list of dates for beginner classes on our Class Timetable page.

CHILDREN'S CLASS
Registrations are now open for a Children's Class to be held at Prebbleton School Hall. Dates and times to be confirmed once the class has the minimum number of students registered but it will be on a Thursday afternoon. Minimum number of students needed to run the class is six.
